About Our Preschool
At Ready Set Go STEAM Preschool, we believe in the power of STEAM-based and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to nurture the five core areas of a child's development and prepare them for the future. We provide loving guidance and support for every child in our care. Our small class allow us to provide specialized attention to each child's needs and to promote meaningful engagement with their peers. We also provide developmental screenings every 3-6 months to ensure each child is meeting their milestones and making progress. With this approach, we are preparing kids to become confident learners who can tackle any challenge.

What is STEAM
STEAM stands for Science,
Technology, Engineering,
Art and Maths.
STEAM learning is a philosophy of education that embraces teaching skills in a way that resembles real life.
STEAM is an integrated approach to learning that develops critical thinking and encourages kids to think more broadly about real world problems with a hands-on approach. The key component of STEAM is integration. So instead of teaching disciplines in independent silos there is a focus on interdisciplinary learning, which aligns with the way we work and problem solve in our daily lives. It’s important for children to develop a diverse skill set, a sense of curiosity and a passion for exploration.
Introducing STEAM to kids from a young age, cultivates collaborative exploration and problem solving.
Problem-based-learning-through-play is hands down the best way to get kids excited about STEAM. Each of the STEAM elements share a common approach, they require gathering information to create knowledge or solve problems.

Meet The teacher
Ms. Yok (Teacher / Owner)
Ms. Yok has an extensive 13-year background as an Early Interventionist and a Special Education Teacher. She is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Early Intervention (Special Education) and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She is a Washington Certified teacher in Early Childhood Special Education. She formerly taught Special Education Preschool.
With her vision to build an exceptional play-based and safe environment for not only her child, but children throughout Pierce County, she created “Ready Set Go Kids Club”. She desires to help children make memories through STEAM-based learning, coupled with social-emotional instruction. Her wealth of knowledge and experience in working with children combined with her heart for helping them learn skills through play lead her to build Ready Set Go STEAM preschool!
